Are people social distancing?
I've been playing a fair amount of golf during this whole thing. I play by myself and I try to be the first one on the course in the morning. I'm old, and I know I may take some criticism for doing this. Yesterday and today it was too cold early in the morning. I went for my daily walk, had lunch, watched the last half of a movie and then decided to go try the golf course. I live on the course. At the club house, there were more cars in the parking lot than I have ever seen in my three years living here. So, I question it. I see the people on the course, they are mostly younger folks (yes there are old codgers like me but most appear to be 40 and under). So, are they using this stay at home from work thing just to bring down the handicap? I know I played through a young guy the other day who I am sure could play better than me, at least hit it a lot further, and he said "go ahead, I'm working from home and need to catch up on my emails". It's just a little strange to me. It was barely over 40 degrees and the parking lot and first tee were packed. I turned around and drove the 1/2 mile back home.
