After such a significant outbreak has occurred in the US, it is really hard to get back to 'business as usual.' If Japan and Taiwan are successful in suppressing and removing the disease that doesn't guarantee that the virus doesn't eventually enter the country.
The whole premise that we can just focus on the economy without getting a handle on the virus is pretty unfounded I'd say. So is the notion that after seeing what has happened in Italy and Spain that we would just bend over and take the deaths. I agree at some point we will have to take a practical approach, I just don't see how we fold from the very beginning with limited to no understanding.
