How many that weren't already dying?
The Corona virus is overwhelmingly killing those who were essentially terminally ill.

In the medical community they actually do weigh quality and life expectancy in the triage process.

Researchers determined that the last recession in 2009 directly contributed to 10,000 suicides. This is that on steroids. Now add in homicides from domestic violence or from an increase in crime as a result of job loss. Add in accidental overdose due to an increase in addiction as a result of depression brought on by job loss and hopelessness. Add in the increase in alcohol abuse and the resulting lives lost from drunk driving.

And these are not individuals 70 and over with other comorbidities.

And we're doing this when we could just as easily target our mitigation toward those who are particularly vulnerable…and then contain and contact trace those that get infected.

We are not just tanking our own economy. As the US goes, so goes much of the world. Millions who have been lifted out of poverty around the world will likely be dropped off a cliff back into it.

So famine, and other disease will likely increase.

People with small minds do not think about the 2nd and 3rd order affects of what is transpiring. None of this happens in a vacuum. There will be consequences that will be far reaching.

I wouldn't presume to know if we have already crossed the Rubicon into making the cure worse than the disease… but there absolutely is a point where that happens. And those that simply scream Corona, Corona, Corona are condemning many to die that they will never even think about.
