Can anyone logically explain to me why the viral growth doesn’t
just start right back up the minute we stop the lockdown? Is the assumption the virus is somehow wiped out from existence after a month? Or that nobody will travel into the country not knowing they have it? Or that within a month enough people will have gotten it and recovered to create herd immunity? Or is it about taking that month as time to increase hospital capacity and prepare for a new, steeper curve?

Knowing this went global from a small number of people (or even one person) how does it not just do the exact same growth again until there is either herd immunity or a vaccine.

I would really love to understand what people think will happen. I’ve heard Faucci talk about multiple waves...which makes more sense to me, except then other than worrying about hospital capacity or buying time for better treatment ideas, what is the point? Are those two the main points and if so, why not talk more openly about that?

Quit making dopes think it disappears in a month if we would just all be obedient. Admit it doesn’t disappear no matter how obedient we are. It just buys time to manufacture ventilators and look for effective treatment protocols.
