Because iPhones are a luxury item, like buying a Louie Vuitton Handbag or a

Rolex watch. The price you pay is more for the cachet that you have an apple product then for any of the tech you're getting. Therefore iPhones and their accessories are priced accordingly. Which is why I am an android person. Nothing wrong with iPhones, I just can't justify paying the Apple tax.
