I use Spanish every day, I just spent ten days in Argentina, I talk on the phone
often to Spanish speakers, and I cannot understand movies or TV shows either. Especially the dubbed over shows, I geve up trying.

One strategy is to turn on subtitles, but in Spanish. That way you can confirm what you heard in Spanish.
