We had just dropped by on Saturday morning to check in and they had the TV on, tuned to NBC international. The promo pops up on that BYU vs Notre Dame would be on later. (Like 8:30 EE time). I hadn't seen one clip of football for two years. (No NFL, no college, nada). Needless to say, we asked him to review a translation we were working on and that we'd come back by at, ahem, 8:30?
At 8:30, me and my comp sat in awe that we were watching BYU football. (I'm still in shock...tender mercies! )
We left at 9:30, but our investigator kept calling us to keep us up to date on the score. We fell asleep, but we were happily woken up at around 11 by his call telling us that the Cougs had won. I'm surprised the neighbors didn't complain with all the yelling we did. (Come to find out, the mission president and APs watched the game, so that took away any guilt we felt.)
Anyway, great win for the Cougs with a few missionaries really pumped in Romania.
