So, here's a guy who sent two kids to the NFL, who probably told his son that his future wasn't in B-ball, but football if he wanted a sure thing. His son drops the hoops, and focuses on football, only to be relegated to #5 on the depth chart (now lets be clear that his brothers didn't really blossom until they were in their Jr/Sr years).

But if I was a former defensive coach and line coach for so many years, with reasonably strong D-lines (Bronco didn't complain or fire the guy), and this was what I see, I wouldn't be pushing my son to stay. Not when the Utes keep producing strong D line guys, and putting them in the NFL. Even if he has to sit a year, one solid year at Utah could make him.

So I don't know that it's sour. As a Dad, I'm sure he's just looking at what's best for his son.
