we’re smarter or would have made better decisions than others around us, and today we have the ability to somewhat anonymously tell everyone about our perceived superiority rather than talk to the person themselves. If the ref or the coach or the person being shamed were in front of us, we’d be a lot less critical. And if we could actually talk to the person about their decisions, we’d be slower to jump to conclusions.
