And I would be happy to follow if it worked. But "do nothing" is clearly going to lead to a lot more deaths, because what would keep the virus from eventually spreading to the whole population, albeit more gradually in small towns and rural areas, and why wouldn't you expect the ultimate death toll to be the same across the country on a per capita basis? Infect a random dude in Wyoming, and a random dude in NYC, and I'd expect they'd have roughly the same odds.
