IMO, the models aren't the problem here, it's the assumptions which have been used. But let's be honest
What's being done to prevent the spread of this is pretty much unprecedented. On top of that, we have precious little in the way of historical data to base key assumptions on. Even the best model in the history of mankind is only as good as the data you're feeding into it.
