5'10" is kind of what separates those who have a shot at being a real high jump
athlete vs those who are just average. Freshman jumpers who are looking to have a shot at the top should be clearing 6'2" or better. The High School record is i Think 7'6", so you really need to be well into six feet and above. 5'10" is where most of us who were athletic enough to try would top out at.
