If a your sport season for your child was cancelled due to COVID-19, would you
expect a refund?

My son plays in a recreational soccer league that plays in the fall and spring. I just got an email stating the spring season has officially been cancelled (seems a little late, but OK). They said because most costs are incurred upfront, they will not be issuing any refunds for half of the season getting cancelled.

I get that uniforms are a fixed cost, and that cost incurred for the fall would be spent, but I have a hard time buying that spring field rentals, referee payments for the spring, spring pictures, medals, etc. that never happened were paid for upfront.

Now, the cost for the year for me was only about $100 and I would have only expected a partial refund of $30 or so, so it's not really a big deal, but the whole principle of not refunding anything after cancelling the season rubs me the wrong way.
