Let me start by saying I think game experience is extremely valuable. This is why Zach is the one I want to start this season. I wanted to analyze a quarterback who didn't have the "best" sophomore season and see how it compared to Zach. So I decided to compare John to Zach. Let's do this.
Notre Dame - 7/10/70%/96/0/0/150.6
Stanford - 5/7/71.4%/56/0/0/138.6
USC - 18/33/54.5%/194/1/3/95.7
Boise State - 20/35/57.1%/390/2/0/169.6
Colorado State - 24/42/57.1%/238/1/1/107.8
Nevada - 34/67/50.7%/358/1/1/97.6
Wyoming - 10/24/41.7%/139/0/1/82
Air Force - 20/31/64.5%/319/4/1/187.1
San Diego State - 15/25/60%/313/3/0/204.8
New Mexico - 22/37/59.5%/247/1/1/119
Utah - 17/32/53.1%/213/2/0/129.7
Zach had 2 fewer games and ended with almost the same totals as John. His completion percentage is pretty impressive for the teams that he played. I know he threw more interceptions but I feel confident that he will improve his stats in all categories from a fully healthy offseason.
