Will mark popes teams have less LDS players on them than his predecessors?
So we’re after year one... we’re getting to see the players he’s chasing and in some cases getting.

I’m noticing there seems to be a shift from finding the best lds players to finding simply the best players. That is an interesting distinction. Am I wrong on that? Am I seeing it incorrectly?

Here’s what’s going through my mind. Of course this will result in better talent. But don’t we already know how this will play out? Is he flying to close to the sun? How long until the first transfer gets turned in to the honor code office and it all explodes in spectacular fashion? When do the complainers come out in full force from every side? Is there a quota of how many guys have to be lds? Would the church be ok if none of the guys were active members? Have we ever had a starting 5 with no active lds guys? Is that a bad thing? Wouldn’t it be a good thing to bring people in for a byu experience as a missionary tool? Wouldn’t the increased exposure due to success be a good thing? Have we done this before? What happened when we tried it?

Getting the best players. Its a bold strategy cotton. Let’s see how it works out for him.
