It doesnt hurt to talk and see what is there. It does a couple of things:

#1 it lets you know what companies are looking for and what skills you may lack.
#2 you can practice your interviewing skills and hone in on your "story"
#3 it gets you a general idea of your market worth

So far I haven't found anywhere that would get me to jump from where I'm currently at. I've gotten close a couple of times but ended up staying.
