this thing out; each side taking extreme positions is natural. Each side is going to fight to get the best deal possible, and why shouldn't they? Why should one side just cave in to the other? And if one side did cave in, then it would just lead to the other side demanding more. Of course there's no assurance that the sides will work this out, but it was inevitable that there would be a massive difference in demands at this stage. If they are still miles apart when Spring Training 2.0 is supposed to start (which is certainly possible) then you will have something to get worked up about. But this is absolutely nothing at this point and was always 100% inevitable.
