Not me, by my boss did for about a year. His family hated it. He has three kids, including two boys full of energy.
They would be very careful about not making too much noise in the house, but their neighbors below them hated them and constantly complained about all the noise they were making. They started to feel closed in by the small apartment (compared to the homes they were used to) and felt like they couldn't do anything in the apartment without their neighbors pounding on their ceiling and complaining about all the noise. It was really tough for his family.

That said, I really think it depends on the kids. I have all girls who are relatively calm and I don't think we would have had some of the issues they had. I think my girls' personalities would be OK with a transition like that. But I know other kids who would struggle. I think for a short period of time we would have really liked it.
