Tech stocks are a trap in my opinion. They are laughably overvalued right now.
Something like 1,000,000 new investors entered the market in the last two months. Guess where they all invested? In the safest stocks they could find, which at the time were tech stocks. With the economic conditions we are seeing, that could be a scary scenario, and I think the tech stocks will come back down to earth. Value investing, on the other hand, in my opinion, is ironically the safer play at the moment, as those stocks are already priced in. Buy companies with a lot of cash on hand and not a lot of debt, who are trading far below what their intrinsic value is so that you have a significant margin of safety. When/if a second drop occurs, you should be fine.
