And the Dream Team had enough guys who wanted to shoot the ball and could score. Having a guy who didn't need that, and was content to set up other players for their shot, was likely a better fit that another ball dominant scorer.
He averaged more assists and steals per game and shot at a higher percentage than many in the game (I'm not willing to look it up right now - but from what I remember he would beat out about every other point guard of that time - certainly Isaiah.)
I can see how someone might say that there are other players who deserved to be on the team. But I don't know how you say that Stockton didn't belong.
