From what I’ve seen in the years I’ve observed Pope (UVU and BYU), these are what he values:
1). Versatility—being able to play multiple positions, especially on defense
2). Scoring ability—shooting, making plays off the dribble for self and teammates, finishing plays.
3). Basketball IQ—making teammates better on the court and off, making the right plays, limiting turnovers.
4). Mentality—guys who are hungry and will do what it takes to play and win.

Because of this, here are my predictions for playing time this year, starters listed first and backups after:
PG: Barcello, Wade, Johnson, Harding
SG: Johnson, Harding, Erickson, Knell
SF: Lowell, Baxter, George, Harding, Johnson
PF: Harward, Baxter, Lowell, Lee
C: Haarms, Harward, Lee

I would say Harding and Johnson will be our most versatile players, able to effectively play 3 positions each, although they likely won’t need to. Haarms and Harward will be our most dominant scorers, with Johnson and Barcello also averaging double figures.
