Intervention Needed
Take away the “forbidden fruit“ aspect of guns
Take the time to teach them gun safety and show them your guns anytime they ask.
They get to see and touch them and they get a safety lesson over and over...
I trust my kids with guns more than most adults. They’ve been taught over and over.

Apart from just getting a safe, how do you protect guns from your kids?

Get a safe but trigger locks also work.

And then they do stupid things when you aren’t looking.

I took my kids to the range and trained them. Then they lost all curiosity

If over 10 (maybe 8 depending on the kid), take them target shooting, teach them

1 Tell kids you will let them see the gun(s) any time they ask.

Keep ammo in a safe place away from the gun. Don’t let your guard down.

Aside from a safe, teach them how to use it and make it as boring as possible.

Perhaps your wife should go through professional firearms training first...
