I have never tried to address a cop by their correct title.

I often try to - my work brings me in regular contact with police. But it's hard to know.

Not a cop, but I always refer to them as "officer" during depositions.

Unless you're another officer, it probably doesn't (or shouldn't) matter.

I would think "officer" covers them all, kinda line "Elder" covers all the GA's,
