I have no idea what the real estate market is in Utah. But generally speaking, you can pick 2: affordable, good schools,
reasonable commute. Affordability isn’t really negotiable so it comes down to the other 2 to weigh and trade off. Older generations who bought 20-30 years ago and have stayed put or have built equity in their house that they can then cash out don't have the same challenge.

I think one reason many millenials don’t have kids or put off having kids is because that eliminates the school issue. Then they can buy a place like the one you linked or an apartment near downtown and it’s all good.

Alternatively, the ones who have kids are being pushed out to the edge of the suburbs where it’s affordable and schools are decent, but commutes are insane. Then everyone wonders why Millenials are so keen on working from home and blame it on laziness rather than the 2.5 hour round trip commute.
