This was way before the star system, but they all had pretty good high school resumes
Robert Stephens:
chosen to the L.A. Times All-Southeast all-stars...All-CIF defense, all-league, all-area and league most valuable offensive lineman.
Jim Balmfourth:
recruited by USC, Arizona and BYU. was pre-season all-state pick despite playing on a losing team. Chose to go to Ricks before his mission, and was all conference (back when there were a lot more Jr. Colleges).
Brian May:
Lettered in football, wrestling and track at Highland High...all-state in football. (sadly passed away in 2007.)
Neal Fort:
First team all CIF as an offensive linemen his Jr. year of high school. First team all CIF on the offensive and defensive line his Sr. year.
Mike Keim:
All state in Arizona on both sides of the line. Also all conference in basketball.
Also interesting that Evan Pilgrim and Scott Brumfield were on the bench (both played in the NFL). Garett Tujague was also a back up that year.
It would be interesting to know what the star rating would have been for those guys.
