I grew up in NM, we have a couple of good Texas style BBQ joints that I've enjoyed. I've lived in NM, Utah, AZ, and Michigan and found decent BBQ in all those places.
But last week I asked CB about good places to eat in Dallas and several suggested Hutchins. So we went there, and it was unreal. The brisket was 2 orders better than the stuff I previously thought was good. Taste, color, smell.. just the complete package. It honestly ruined what I previously thought good brisket was. It was so good we went to eat there again before we left Dallas for good.
I've had Bam Bams on several occasions, and their brisket sandwich is good, but it's nowhere near Hutchins.
PS - Torchys Tacos was also very good. Trashy trailer park FTW.
