He for sure is a better player than he is an asset, but that kind of proves my point that he can’t be one of your top 2 contracts to win a championship. If other teams don’t value him highly than, you can’t pay him what he is asking for. So then you either let him walk for nothing, or try to recoup some value, even if it’s not up to his full value. But paying what he is asking would be a disaster, especially since the Jazz could replicate a majority of what they are already doing at 1/4 of the cost
