That’s the point haha. You are proving my point over and over again. These models and analytics have flaws because they can’t capture and quantify everything in the game of basketball. I wasn’t cherry picking, i was just using one example, but here are two more for you. PER, you really think Tony Bradley, Nerlens Noel, Andre Drummond, etc. are better than Rudy? Heck no. Raptor, you really think Rudy is better than Dame, Luka, AD, etc.? Heck no. That’s my point you aren’t getting, and I can’t spell it out anymore simpler than that.
And like I said rankings are anecdotal and personal, different people value different things and see the game differently than others. I’m just telling you the actual people making basketball decisions for their franchise for the most part don’t value Gobert as top 20 player in the league. But it’s not like he is garbage, the whole point of all of this was just you can’t pay top 20 money to a guy who isnt worth that in today’s league.
