What to do with sliding rock in Alpine
Sliding rock in Alpine is private property. Always has been. Problem is it was never enforced until a few years ago when people started building the neighborhood up in Fort Canyon.

Signs have been and are posted. People ignore them. When asked to leave they get belligerent and sometimes angry to the point of physical action. Almost everyone who wants to go there feels that it should be public so they dont care what the actual law says.

What do you do about that? Signs don’t work. Guards are impractical and overkill. The major problem is liability not to mention traffic and parking and congestion in places that quite simply are private.

Why do people like property rights when it’s in their favor but hate them when it goes against how they feel it should be?
