Smoking Pot isn't going to cause any noticeable physical changes

I wouldn't be super quick to judge him. It could be a more serious drug or it could be a health problem. Lots of guys in their 20's ignore health issues that they should get treatment for. If he's depressed, he's probably not super motivated to go see a dr or get help.

Probably the best thing you can do spend time with him and show him you care about him.
