When my son was 10,11 and around 12,
He finally started to figure it out but he was far from perfect.
It took a lot of showing him then around 12 asking him what wrong with the lawn but sometimes he was still blind to see the missed spots.
It was a long process and a lot of encouragement the he finally started to take some pride in a good looking lawn.
