Little concerned as I was reading other threads about this, and a thought occurred to me.

There is nothing "safer" about playing conference only games. What a phoney baloney thing to dream up as some social justice virtue signal. Whenever I think we can't get more stupid as a country, we go and do something even more idiotic. But, nevertheless, there is nothing "safer" about playing in conference only. If 'they' think we have to wear masks to go to our neighborhood grocery store, or food establishment...how can UCLA going to Phoenix for example, be "safer" than going to your local grocery store? If we can't contain against the virus in our local neighborhoods...then does it matter if UCLA travels to L.A. to play USC, or Florida to play Miami? No...it doesn't make any sense at all.

However....it does deliver a massive death blow to the G5 conferences. The P5 conferences still have these massive TV contracts and money coming in to their conferences. (Not sure what the details are that could deal with modifications of the contracts in a pandemic situation)...but, if they still have massive money coming in...the P5 conferences can actually survive a year or so without playing anyone else. The G5 schools? They are mostly going to DIE! I tend to think that a VERY high percentage of the universities in the G5 conferences, can't sustain their sporting programs without the football revenues coming in. This could be reallllly bad for the G5 schools (BYU included because we're still on the outside looking in, but we can survive).

The seperation will grow even more distant. 🙁

Football needs to happen. Covid19 is becoming less severe than the common flu.
