they are casualties because huge PAC-12 tv funds never materialized. They were
on pace to lose $12 million before the pandemic happened.

But also they sponsored a huge amount of sports- they had 850 undergrad students on a scholarship sports team sponsored by the school. That is 12% of the entire undergraduate student body was an intercollegiate athlete.

I am surprised that men's water polo, men's tennis, men's gymnastics, and men's golf survived over volleyball. At least those other ones besides golf require more exercise than volleyball does, so maybe they were chosen to promote improved health choices.
