I checked in to the Marriott San Jose once and went to to my room
Opened the door and there was about 15+ people sitting in a large circle just staring at me as I walked into the room. Both myself and the guy whose room it actually was rode the elevator down to the lobby in awkward silence and started complaining to the front desk at the same time. You never think you're gonna open your hotel door to a large group of people sitting on your bed.
