My son graduated this year without a graduation ceremony. Last year I promised
Him That we would take his senior pictures from the top of Dragontail peak in the Enchantments in Washington.
Well his school decided to forgo Senior pictures in the yearbook as it wasn’t fair to the kids who didn’t have money for elaborate photographs So everybody was just photographed the same day at the school.
He had his right hip surgery done during the summer last year because wanted to wait till after tennis season was over. So he really did not have a summer last year. This year he was captain of the tennis team and there was no School tennis team So he’s had a rough year.
He is now scheduled for his left hip surgery on July 21 and then they will have to redo his right hip surgery in October so he’s gonna be out of commission for another six months so I’ve been letting him run wild the last three months. He’s literally mountain biking, rock climbing hiking, fishing almost every day

Last week we made it up to the top of Dragontail for his graduation senior pics. it was a good 6000+ Ft elevation climb and 20 miles through the enchantment lakes in a day.

And this Friday and Saturday we climbed mount Shuksan another 7000 vertical 15+ miles. It was a true alpine climb with glacier travel with crevasse, steep snow couloir ascent and descent. And 5.4 climbing which he nailed. I struggled with the very steep snow crossings and some of the pitches on the rock and I would’ve not of done it But being with him and seeing him excel was well worth it.

It’s Gonna be so sad watching him be on crutches for six weeks and a slow three month recovery and then have to do it all over again in October. I’m afraid it’s going to be a rough next six months for him. Then possibly a mission or a semester at BYU in January?
