We were hiking on the Sunken Gardens trail by the hot pools. I look up and see a big, long striped snake climbing up the rock cliff above my head. My kids completely freaked out and started crying and wanted to go home. They're deathly afraid of snakes. It's almost a phobia. We were eventually able to settle them down and continue our walk.

I will admit. It was unsettling to see a big snake right above my head. The other times when I've encountered a snake, they've always been on the ground.
