Question re: Bose 700 and Sony 1000XM3 and Windows devices
I debated between the Bose 700 and Sony 1000XM3 for my first pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Given that I was going to use them for phone calls and virtual online meetings, I was swayed to the Bose product by reviews suggesting the noise-cancelling microphone was a little better, thus isolating your own voice from ambient noise around you.

I've had the Bose headphones for around five months, and I've been very pleased with them. My only gripe is that I've found a glitch/problem wherein the headset/microphone combination won't seem to work for Windows devices. When on a Windows device, it seems like the headphones glitch out, and the microphone doesn't work. (When on my Android phone, they work perfectly. If I call in using phone audio for a Windows-based meeting, it works great.) This appears to be a fairly common issue: https://community.bose.com/t5/Around-On-Ear-Headphones/NC-Headphones-700-microphone-not-working-on-PC/td-p/275052

Do others have this issue with the Bose 700 headphones? Any solutions or workarounds?

Second, does the Sony 1000XM3 have the same issue? (...or any other glitches like this?) I'm considering buying a pair for my daughter who's heading to BYU this fall, so I'm leaning toward the Sony product because she'll be taking a lot of classes remotely online (with a Windows device).
