Ugh. Went out of town with the family for 16 days.
When we got back we noticed the oven clock was flashing so realized the power must have gone out at some point while we were gone. No biggie.

Then the next morning my wife asked why the sprinklers were still going at 8am; they are set to go on at 10pm. I went to the garage and noticed that the settings on the sprinkler were all changed and messed up. The power surge must have reset something. Instead of 20 minutes per station, they were set to run for 6 hours per station. We have 10 stations....

Just got our water bill for last month, including the first 10 days of our trip. Normally it’s $35/month. $250 this month.

I’m REALLY hoping that the power went out early in our trip otherwise I’m scared of what next month’s bill is gonna be.

Why do these things always happen while on vacation?
