Many years ago I applied at a bank in NYC. They asked me if my wife was from Utah, and if she would want to go back there soon. The reason was that they felt they invested a lot of money in the training and early years of an employees career. Too many BYU students with Utah backgrounds ended up leaving the company and going back at any cost. (I was a grad student at the Y).
