Membership in itself defines "P5 caliber".
The media is the one that attached the "power" moniker to the conferences; the NCAA refers to them as the Autonomous 5 . Yesterday, Swofford used A5 instead of P5, when talking about them.
"Power" doesn't refer to the product on the field. It never has. It refers to the power that those conferences, through their members, have in shaping the future of college athletics.
"How many P5 programs are "P5 caliber programs?" . Every one that is a member of those conferences. No school outside of the A5 commanda that kind of power. So no one outside of the Club is "P5 caliber".
