We join a G5 conference for a year, or otherwise assemble a schedule of mostly G5 schools, and end up winning that conference and/or running the table. The coronavirus threat diminishes by the end of the season to the point it’s safe to have a playoff. Yet because of the shortened schedules and lack of nonconference matchups, CFP finally goes to an eight or 16 team format. All P5 conference champions and several G5 conference champions and potentially others are invited, including BYU. BYU plays P12 champion and wins (probably someone else besides Utah, but either way doesn’t really matter). Then we finally get our game with Bama and win as well. And then we finally win another national championship.
