Very myopic view of what used to be considered 'amateur sports'. Scholarships, housing, food, apparel and even the stipend have monetary value. True, the schools are making more, but they are also shouldering much of the financial risks — coaches, stadiums, locker rooms....
I think that the healthcare aspect is valid.
Oh, why aren't players paid in cash.... or limited in what they can make (for the time being), it is too allow a 'even playing field' in college sports. Even the NFL allows the bad teams to get better players in the drafts. Is it working perfectly, no. Can a Boise State, SDSU, UCF and BYU have a better shot at beating the OKs, USCs, Oregons..... Yes.
