I’m not trying to be pessimistic, But I have some fear that time will come when having A church school on a resume is a liability for many. We don’t exactly have a good history with racism or with LGBTQ crowd. They won’t openly admit it, but We are already de facto excluded from conference memberships because of church affiliation in collegiate sports. With society being more progressive an increase in cancel culture, I think It’s likely it will extend just beyond just people not wanting to play us in collegiate sports. While they are not supposed to, It seems pretty likely there will be hiring managers that see BYU on a resume and just move on to the next one to one because they assume that person doesn’t align with either their personal or company values.
There’s a lot of good that comes from people attending church schools I’m not discrediting that. Maybe they deem the pros still outweigh any cons if the above ever does happen. But as church continues to grow, they all can’t attend a church school. I Personally don't think the church should invest any more into new church schools. If anything encourage to attend elsewhere and invest more in institutes, etc to support people in other locations and use the education infrastructure already in place.
