1. I'm actually still optimistic about our potential schedule. It very likely won't be as strong as originally planned, but I'm hopeful we can put together a 12-game schedule with strong competition. If we can keep what we have and add a few Big12 opponents and upper AAC opponents then it could be an entertaining season.
2. I'm a bit less optimistic that the season will progress as planned. I think there's a strong possibility of cancelled games or a cancelled season altogether. I hope the coming month will see drastic changes to COVID growth.
3. I know I will get crucified for saying this, but I actually think a softer schedule this year could be a positive thing for our program. It seems to me our team needs to develop confidence... swagger... a winner's mentality. Our program needs to find success in order to build greater success. I'm not suggesting a "soft schedule" should be part of our permanent strategy going forward, but maybe a 10-2 season would help us build some program momentum, a better recruiting class, etc.
