We've got a relatively small construction project coming up and I'd like to use a lot of the same subs that did the original work on our home. I have all the contact info for the subs, so I'm wondering if it will save me some cash to contact them all individually or just find a contractor and let them handle everything. Probably more expensive, but maybe worth the less hassle for me?

I'm pretty construction illiterate, so I have no idea if this is frowned upon or if it's generally accepted. I also don't have a clue how it works with city permits/inspections if I hire the subs myself.
