I know TO had a big comeback win tonight but you are all amateur Leafs watchers while I am a lifelong fan so let me lay out the facts for you while you consider what NHL team to support

Pros:
-great jerseys
-team is competitive recently
-you’ll have lots of time in May/June to enjoy the spring weather

Cons:
-everyone else hates your team, especially in Canada
-the media coverage and public attention is relentless, drives players away, and discourages free agents from signing
-ticket prices are absurd
-home arena atmosphere is lacking
-none of the franchise’s best highlights are in color
-the rest of the hockey world throws a party when you’re eliminated from the playoffs
-team nickname among all the mouth breathers in my junior high was the Make Me Laughs and that never gets old which is neat
-lack of more than 2 pro-caliber defenseman makes holding a lead difficult and frustrating to watch
-Boston fans have complete bragging rights over you and absolutely no one is worse than them, seriously
-rather than always coming in last, the Leafs like to make it interesting and just miss the playoffs, choke away a series lead, get shut down by backup goalies, or blow big leads in Game 7s. Eventually you get tired of being repeatedly kicked in the balls and you just expect disappointment, after which they perform admirably for a stretch and draw you back in, just enough to make you believe, before they rip your heart out, stomp on it, and then pummel you in the balls a few more times but you actually deserve it for being so stupid as to believe that they could do anything beyond being completely useless and embarrassing themselves while everyone takes great pleasure in your pain and misfortune even though you never get the sweet revenge of victory to balance it out so why do you even bother in the first place
