The “running back to Utah” issue is a real concern in NYC
I’d get used to that question coming up a lot if you’re interviewing for jobs in the city.
As for dumb/pointless questions, If you’re interviewing at middle market firms outside of a set hiring process, that’s probably gonna be the norm too.
