I have been to the Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun. It's outside the city. It's adults only. It was beautiful and quiet. If you guys dive at all there is some great stuff to see in the immediate area. Cozumel is, of course, better known for great diving.

We've stayed at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Jamaica. Also all-inclusive, adults only, and gorgeous.

We've stayed at Iberostart Grand Bavaro in Punta Cana. Similarly amazing.

We've done cruises. Definitely a different feel from the All-inclusives. They are more go-go where the resorts are more chill, relaxed, go at your own pace. You feel like there are fewer people around at the resorts. That might sound like I don't like cruises. That would be wrong. I do like cruises. You get to see a bunch of different islands on a cruise.

USVI and BVI are famously great islands.

All these places have direct Southwest flights from the US. They shouldn't be too expensive to get to. Honestly the resorts themselves are shockingly affordable too.

One last tip: Don't just stay at the resort or on the boat. Do your homework well in advance and make sure to go see something. We've had a great time diving, going on dune buggy tours, zip lines, city tours, ... And if you do your homework ahead of time it's almost always cheaper to book these tours in advance and now when you're at the destination.
