777 Living Rent Free In CB Heads
I just got my power back on and internet. It had been 24 hours. This storm was
kind of a big deal in my sugar house (East SLC) neighborhood. If I drive a block south there is zero damage. But if I drive north it looks like a warzone. I was right on the edge. Both of my backyard fences blew down, (since repaired) and half my front yard tree fell into the street. My big concern was the backyard tree that would have fallen into the house. I have no idea why it's still standing. The two trees in neighbors yard directly behind it came down.

Anyway after cleaning up and repairing all day I drove up to my brothers house a few blocks north of me to help him clear his fallen trees. Guys, you would not believe the damage to those neighborhoods. I'm still in shock. I counted 100 downed trees within just a few blocks. I'm talking 3 story tall trees and many had fallen into homes, across streets blocking roads, toppling power lines, crashing into street signs, ripping the ground apart. Every single home with some sort of tree or property damage for several blocks. Homeowners in tears in their front yards. Sidewalks obliterated. I cannot believe the damage. It will take a month at least to clear it.

I had no idea Utah was capable of a storm like that. 100MPH gusts that just went on for 12 straight hours. My house was shaking. But I'm actually fortunate. Had that back yard tree come down that would have sucked. Would have swallowed the whole house.

Anyway yeah, first time I've had power to post an update.
