I would be that parent and ask - Why didn't he make the team so I can work with
him this offseason to improve where he is deficient.
If they aren't willing to provide feedback that way - I wouldn't be to hurt, you now know it's a political game (Which it tends to be, from my experience coaching 7th / 8th-grade football)
